The Brisbane Contemporary Church Music Festival returns in 2018 over two weekends in August – the 11th/12th and the 18th/19th. Continuing the well-established tradition, the BCCMF 2018 program offers a rich, colourful and eclectic program of choral and instrumental church music from across the ages in the sublime surrounds of St John’s Cathedral.

Take a journey through the seasons of the church year with music of recent origin. If you cannot wait for next Christmas or were away and missed last Easter, come and celebrate the whole year in just one joyous performance.

Contemporary Classical music is not just the province of the old. Three highly-skilled school choirs bring us an exciting and
varied performance exploring the sacred in contemporary music while the St Peters church choir from Indooroopilly gives us music of local composer Gregory Mayer.

This program includes the Australian premiere of the Mass by John Ashton Thomas, as well as Janáček’s Otče náš along with other works by Tavener, Rutter, Treseder and Chilcott.
