AN APPETITE FOR MURDER: "'Tis The Season For A Folly" St. John's Cathedral brings Christmas to July with the first ever murder mystery dinner in the Cathedral itself.
On Tuesday, July 24th the Narthex of the Cathedral will be transformed and it becomes the festive season in the year 1932 at Mortlake Abbey. Sir Roderick Ponsonby has an eclectic group of acquaintances staying for the holiday season including long-time friend and famous sleuth Lord Peter Irony and also someone who does not take to heart the promise of a season of peace on earth and goodwill to all men who has "An Appetite For Murder"!
Blair Martin, who is an award winning Brisbane actor, speaker, MC, writer, director, facilitator and founder of the entertainment company "Something Else Entertainment" (as well as being a long-term member of the Cathedral congregation) is presenting this exciting new addition to the Cathedral's cultural calendar. As well as writing this story "'Tis The Season For A Folly" in the "An Appetite For Murder" series, Blair also plays the sleuth - the suave, sophisticated and seriously entertaining Lord Peter Irony. Those who book in early get the chance to be one of the twelve suspects, with a full character profile (with helpful hints on back-story of the character, attitudes and personality as well as costume suggestions) provided prior to the evening's entertainment. Everyone else is encouraged to dress–up in the style of the period and working in table groups help solve the dastardly crime. Prizes will be awarded for best costume, most "convincing" acting and for the most outlandish solution to the murder.
Helen Lancaster of the Cathedral "Ambassadors" will be providing an appropriate (and scrumptious) seasonal three course set menu dinner with the ticket price also including a welcome glass of mulled wine on arrival.
Tickets are at the murderously low price of just $65 per person and a cash bar will be operating on the night.
The evening commences at 6.30pm for a 7.00pm and already several Cathedral "notables" have expressed their interest in being one of the dozen guests under Lord Peter's close forensic gaze.
