    Debate the Preacher Series 2 2012 - An Altar of Their Own

    The Debate the Preacher series is designed for those who wish to explore God-talk in a reasoned and reasonable way. Have you ever wished that you could engage the preacher is a conversation about what they have expounded from the pulpit? Here is your opportunity!

    Debate the Preacher Series 2 2012 in Celebration of 20 years of the Women's Ordination to the Anglican Priesthood.  Evensong followed by converstion over nibbles and drinks.

    Preacher: Dr Barbara Field

    Barbara was brought up in Sydney diocese - and attended Sydney University. She taught English and History for 25 years and then went to UNE as Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Education in charge of Practice Teaching. She has a BA and Dip Ed from Uni. of Sydney and a MEd from UNE.

    She achieved a post-graduate BD from the MCD at St John's College, Morpeth, fol-lowed by a PhD on the discourses of resis-tance to the ordination of women in the Anglican Church.
    When she and her wonderfully supportive husband Terry retired, they first did a Missionary year with ABMA at Newton Theological College in PNG. She lectured in Systematic Theology. They followed this with another missionary year at Notre Dame Institute of Education in Karachi with the Sisters of Mercy.

    She has been an LA at St John's for 15 years with a licence to do everything including preaching and teaching. Her sermon will not be a repeat of the presentation recently given at St Francis College.
