September 18 – Emerging from the Depths
But as for me, I will look to YHWH and wait for the God who will save me; my God will hear me. (Micah 7:7)
The dragonfly begins its life underwater hidden from view. In this larval stage, it grows and develops, waiting for the perfect moment to emerge. When the time is right, the dragonfly leaves the depths and takes to the skies, transformed into a breathtaking creature of beauty and grace. Its iridescent wings catch the sunlight as it dances above the water’s surface, a testament to the power of patience and the transformative nature of waiting.
In our spiritual lives, we often find ourselves in periods of waiting, like the dragonfly in its larval stage. We may feel submerged in uncertainty, seeking clarity and direction. Yet, it is in these times of waiting that we can grow, trusting the Divine to guide us. Just as the dragonfly emerges from the depths, renewed and ready to soar, we too can emerge from our waiting, strengthened by faith and trust in the Divine.
Reflection:
1. What areas of my life am I currently waiting for clarity or direction in, and how can I trust in the Divine during this time?
2. How can I embrace the transformative power of waiting, allowing myself to grow and develop in the midst of uncertainty?
Prayer:
Divine Presence, grant me the patience and trust to wait upon You, knowing that even in the depths, You are with me, guiding my transformation and growth.
