September 20 – The Unseen Sustains the Seen
By faith, we understand that the world was created by the word from God, and that what is visible came into being through the invisible. (Hebrews 11:3)
In the vast expanse of the outback, the sun’s energy pours down upon the Earth, nurturing and sustaining life in all its visible splendour. The golden wattle blooms, the kookaburra laughs, and the kangaroo bounds across the plains—all made possible by the invisible light spectra that transmit the sun’s life-giving power. This intricate dance of the unseen and the seen is a beautiful reflection of the spiritual principle that the invisible realm is the foundation and sustenance of the visible world.
Just as the sun’s invisible energy creates and maintains the vibrant tapestry of life in Australia, so too does the unseen hand of the Divine create and uphold the world we perceive with our physical senses. It is through faith that we can begin to comprehend this truth, recognising that the beauty and complexity of the visible world are expressions of the invisible, eternal realm. By attuning ourselves to the wisdom embedded in nature, we can cultivate a deeper appreciation for the sacred interconnectedness of all things, both seen and unseen.
Reflection:
1. How can I open my eyes to the sacred interconnectedness of the visible and invisible realms in my daily life?
2. In what ways can I cultivate a deeper sense of wonder and gratitude for the unseen forces that sustain and nourish my existence?
Prayer:
Divine Presence, help me to see beyond the visible world and recognise the sacred interconnectedness of all things. May I live with a profound sense of wonder and gratitude for the unseen forces that sustain me.
