October 31 – Stillness
Be still, and know that I am God. (Psalm 46:10)
In the quiet bushland, a koala rests peacefully in the branches of a eucalyptus tree. This gentle creature embodies a profound spiritual truth: stillness is the gateway to knowing the Divine Presence. Amidst the constant motion and chaos of the world, the koala’s serene repose reminds us of the importance of cultivating inner tranquility. By quieting the mind and opening the heart, we create space for the Sacred to reveal itself in the present moment.
The eucalyptus tree provides a sanctuary for the koala’s contemplative journey. Similarly, when we seek out moments of solitude and silence, we allow ourselves to be nourished by the Divine’s all-encompassing love. In the stillness, we begin to recognise the intricate web of connection that binds all of creation together. Like the koala finding sustenance in the eucalyptus leaves, we discover that our true nourishment comes from aligning ourselves with the sacred rhythm of life.
Reflection:
-
How can I create more space for stillness and contemplation in my daily life?
-
What insights or revelations have I experienced during moments of quiet reflection?
Prayer: Divine Presence, guide me to embrace stillness and open my heart to your sacred wisdom. Help me find peace and connection in the present moment.
