November 27 – Metamorphosis

The truth of the matter is, no one can enter God’s kindom without being born of water and the Spirit. (John 3:5)
The northern banjo frog begins its life submerged in water as a tadpole. Through a remarkable process of metamorphosis, it gradually transforms, growing legs, absorbing its tail, and eventually emerging from the water as a fully formed frog, ready to breathe air and explore the world above the surface. This incredible journey mirrors the transformative process of spiritual rebirth in John 3:5.
Just as the tadpole must surrender its old form to be born anew as a frog, we too are called to let go of our old ways and embrace a new life in the Spirit. This transformation is not a one-time event, but an ongoing process of growth and change, guided by the ever-present love of the Divine. As we navigate the complexities of our own spiritual metamorphosis, we can find comfort and inspiration in the natural world, recognising that change and growth are essential parts of the journey towards wholeness and union with the Sacred.
Reflection:
-
What aspects of my life do I need to surrender in order to be born anew in the Spirit?
-
How can I cultivate a sense of wonder and openness to the transformative power of the Divine in my daily life?
Prayer:
Creator of all life, guide me through the waters of change and transformation, that I may emerge renewed and filled with your Spirit.
