March 13

You can never tell what your life will be like or what will happen tomorrow. You’re no more than a vapour that appears briefly and then disappears. (James 4:14)
The ever-shifting sands and tides of the Australian seashore offer a lesson in the unpredictable nature of life. Just as the shoreline is continually reshaped by the ceaseless dance of wind, water, and sand, our lives are subject to the constant flux of circumstances beyond our control. The sea spray, carried on the wind, appears briefly before vanishing into the air, a poignant reminder of the transient nature of our own existence.
In the face of life’s uncertainties, we are called to embrace the present moment with faith and trust. Like the seashore, which adapts to the ever-changing conditions while remaining rooted in its essential nature, we too must learn to navigate the ebb and flow of life with grace and resilience. By anchoring ourselves in the eternal truths of love, compassion, and connection, we can find stability amidst the chaos, knowing that the Divine is ever-present in the unfolding of our lives.
Reflection:
-
How can I cultivate a deeper sense of presence and acceptance in the face of life’s uncertainties?
-
What anchors me and gives me strength during times of change and upheaval?
Prayer:
Divine Presence, help me to embrace the ebb and flow of life with grace and trust, knowing that You are with me in every moment, guiding me through the ever-changing tides of existence.
