March 26

Ask the generations long passed, and find out what their ancestors learned, for we were only born yesterday, and we know nothing. (Job 8:8)
The Painted Desert of South Australia unveils a breathtaking tapestry of colour, each layer of rock a testament to the passage of time. These ancient strata, formed over millions of years, hold the wisdom of the Earth itself. Just as the desert’s layers reveal the history of the planet, the generations that came before us hold a depth of knowledge and understanding that we can scarcely fathom. In our fleeting existence, we are but a blink in the grand expanse of time.
The spiritual principle of humility reminds us to approach life with a sense of reverence and openness. When we acknowledge the vastness of the wisdom that surrounds us—in the natural world and in the lives of those who came before—we begin to understand our place in the grand scheme of things. We are invited to listen attentively to the whispers of the past and the lessons etched in the earth, knowing that there is always more to learn and discover.
Reflection:
-
How can I cultivate a deeper sense of humility and openness to the wisdom that surrounds me?
-
What lessons can I learn from the natural world and the generations that came before me?
Prayer:
Divine Wisdom, grant me the humility to recognise the depth of knowledge that exists beyond my own understanding. May I approach each day with an open heart, ready to learn from the world around me and those who have walked this path before.
