The ashes used on Ash Wednesday are prepared each year by collecting and burning the Palm Crosses that were distributed in previous years. This will happen on Sunday 3rd March (*three services) and is an important symbol of renewal. Please bring in your Palm Crosses and leave them in the bowl on the Literature Table (near the font).
NOCTURNES FOR LENT
Friday nights from 8th March
On Friday evenings in Lent the Cathedral will be open at 9.00pm for 45 minutes of sublime reflective music performed by some of Brisbane’s best ensembles.
It will be followed by a Service of Compline, the liturgy for the close of day.
GOOD FRIDAY MUSICAL DEVOTION
Friday 19th April, 7.00pm
Featuring the Cathedral Chamber Choir directed by Graeme Morton. Admission by Programme $30 on the night – everyone warmly invited to attend what promises to be a magnificent concert!
