April 24 – The Steadfast Rock in the Midst of Change

“Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8)

At the centre of Australia Uluru, a massive sandstone monolith, has stood for thousands of years weathering the cycles of the seasons and the passage of time. Despite changes over this vast timeframe, Uluru remains a steadfast presence, a symbol of endurance and stability. Similarly, amidst the flux and impermanence of our lives, we find an unwavering constant in the person of Jesus Christ. St. Francis, in his deep devotion to Christ, recognised the eternal nature of Jesus’ love and presence. He found solace and strength in the knowledge that no matter the challenges or changes he faced, Christ remained the same—a rock upon which he could anchor his life. As we navigate the shifting tides of our own experiences, we, too, can find comfort in the unchanging nature of Jesus, whose love and grace remain constant through all of life’s seasons.

Reflection:

In what ways can I deepen my connection with Jesus, the unchanging source of love and stability in my life?

How can I emulate the steadfastness of Uluru in my faith journey, remaining grounded in Christ amidst the changes and challenges I face?

Prayer:
Eternal God, thank you for the gift of your Son, Jesus Christ, who remains the same yesterday, today, and forever. May I find my anchor in Him, trusting in His unchanging love and presence through all the seasons of my life.
